About Bulahdelah
Bulahdelah is a town in the MidCoast Council area on the Mid North Coast, 235 km north of Sydney, along the eastern and northern banks of the Myall River, about 480 m east of where the Myall and Crawford rivers meet. The eastern part of the township is built at the foot of the Alum Mountain.
The name is the Worimi people’s “Boolah Dillah”, meaning “the Great Rock”, for the 292-metre mountain. Its official name is Bulahdelah Mountain, though it is commonly known as the Alum Mountain.

More about Bulahdelah
Mining resumed on the mountain from 1934 to 1952, and ceased as it became less profitable; in 1979 NSW State Forests took over its management. A lookout is reached by walking trails and car access, with views from Cabbage Tree Mountain to the coast.
The Bulahdelah Bridge, which opened in November 1969, was part of the Pacific Highway until the town was bypassed in July 2013.
